Virtual Urgent Care
Virtual Urgent Care will be open from 7 a.m. to 11 p.m. on Christmas Day, Saturday, December 25th.
Mass General Brigham offers convenient, high-quality virtual urgent care services for many health conditions and minor injuries.
Established Mass General Brigham patients located in Massachusetts with a Patient Gateway account can connect through a secure, interactive video visit on their tablet, smart phone, or computer from 7 a.m. - 11 p.m., 7 days a week. This service is for adults and children ages 3 and older. Anyone under the age of 18 will need to be accompanied by an adult.
If you are not a Patient Gateway patient,please create a Patient Gateway account.
Here is what you can expect with Mass General Brigham Virtual Urgent Care:
- Your visit will be with a Mass General Brigham Urgent Care provider
- Your After Visit Summary will be available in Patient Gateway
- The provider you see will communicate with your Mass General Brigham care team, including your primary care physician and specialists, for any necessary follow-up care

How to use
If you are an established Patient Gateway patient, log-in to your Patient Gateway account and look for "Virtual Urgent Care On-Demand" under the "Find Care" menu option.
If you are not a Patient Gateway patient,please create a Patient Gateway account.
What conditions are treated?
Providers can diagnose, offer treatment, and prescribe medication, if medically necessary, for many health conditions, including:
- Bug or insect bite
- Cold and flu
- Cough
- COVID-19 concerns
- Diarrhea
- Fever
- Headache
- Heartburn
- Mild Asthma
- Minor injury
- New back pain
- Painful urination
- Pink Eye (conjunctivitis) without vision loss
- Rash or skin infection
- Sinus pressure
- Sore throat
- Sprains and strains
- Tooth pain
- Yeast infection
Cost to patients
Virtual care visits are available to established Mass General Brigham patients (ages 3+) in Massachusetts. Your cost-sharing for these urgent care services will depend on your health plan type. If you have questions, please contact the Member Services Department of your health plan for specifics regarding your coverage.
Mass General Brigham will work with your health plan to bill for any amount owed after your visit. By participating in a virtual urgent care visit with Mass General Brigham, you agree to be financially responsible for payment for the services provided to you. If it is later determined that your insurance coverage changed or was not active on the day of your visit, or does not cover virtual urgent care services, you agree to be responsible for payment of the visit and you authorize Mass General Brigham to charge you the cost of the service.
